BALANCE BIKE PLAYDATE
@ HEAT CARDIO CLUb SEVERNA PARK
For the littlest riders-to-be, this class will introduce the concept of gliding and balancing on two wheels. Balance bikes are the best way to learn to ride a bike. It's typical for 2,3, and 4 year olds to transition seamlessly from balancing and gliding to pedaling independently.
This class will build the foundation for a lifetime of bike riding by encouraging the development of balance, turning, gliding, stopping and starting through fun and games. The indoor studio space is complete with disco lights and a sound system to pump up the toddler jams! We'll integrate various obstacles for exploration and encourage skills and social development with peers.
Bring helmet & balance bike or buy the Woom Bike Holiday Bundle which includes class registration and a bike (your choice of Woom 1, Woom 1 Plus or Woom 2- save 20%)!
Bring helmet & balance bike. Limited number of rental/demo bikes available (first come/first served- $20 for 9 week session) Please indicate child’s height and inseam on registration form (must be at least 10.8”)
Ages: 18 mos** to 4 years
**UPDATED** Now 9 weeks, 50 minute classes, $180- You get 3 free bonus classes!!!
** We love the littlest peanuts and believe that any kid who can walk is ready to try a balance bike! However, for balance bike riding, the child’s feet need to be flat on the floor when they’re sitting on the bike seat. Our smallest balance bikes (Woom 1) have a minimum inseam requirement of 10.8”, one of the tiniest/lowest available. If you are renting a bike through us, your toddler must have an inseam at least this long. If you are supplying your own bike, feet need to be flat. The smallest balance bike we know is the Frog Tadpole, with a minimum inseam of 9.5”.
Session 1 class options:

Fridays @ 2:00 (starts January 11)
Saturdays @ 11:00 (starts January 12)

LEARN TO RIDE PRIVATE & SEMI-PRIVATE LESSONS- ALWAYS AVAILABLE!
Group classes don’t work for your schedule, but still want your little one to be riding come spring? Schedule private lessons on-demand, at a convenient location near you. Cooler temps mean more clothing and gear, which is actually a good thing for young riders- more skin protection! As long as it’s not icy or below freezing, we’re riding comfortably with the right clothes. Indoor lessons can be scheduled as well- contact us to learn more. (Cost is higher to cover facility rental, but guaranteed warm weather!)
WEEKEND BIKE CLUB
When the weather cooperates, our weekend warriors will ride! Weekend Bike Club is a drop in event, with the ride location and distances changing weekly. Riders should be able to stop, start, turn, control speed independently in order to join the group. Bike Club members will develop group riding skills, improve bike handling and safety awareness, and build endurance- all while having fun exploring the great outdoors. Contact us for more information and to be added to the list.
