Ride With Confidence

PEDALPOWER KIDS

EVERY KID ON A BIKE!

We provide high-quality, individualized and fun bicycle skills and safety instruction for children of all ages and abilities. We believe that bikes make life better, and that every kid should be able to ride confidently and safely.

Learning to ride a bike should be a positive experience for a child, and our professional instruction ensures the learning process is quick and engaging, and lays the foundation for a lifetime of family fun, independence and exploration through bike riding. In addition to our signature Learn to Ride group programs and camps in Anne Arundel County, Washington DC and Baltimore, PedalPower Kids offers summer adventure camps, bike clubs, private lessons, preschool and school-aged enrichment programs, school bike safety programs, neighborhood safety clinics and bike rodeos.

We’re proud to be an active part of the Annapolis/Anne Arundel County community, giving back through bike advocacy and volunteer efforts like Bike to School Day and free Bike Safety Rodeos.

  • 🚨 Due to illness, we’ve had to postpone the start date of our Wednesday Learn to Ride classes to March 25. Good news is we now have a few open spots for LTR Minis at 3:15 and LTR at 4:15, both in Millersville. This session will run to April 29. Link in bio to register- early spring is otherwise full and late spring is filling as well so hop on this opportunity!!!! 🚲 🧒 💪
  • This week’s #WhyWednesday: “Why Understanding How to Maintain Your Bike is Important”

As the weather warms up and kids start riding more, it’s important to make sure their bikes are ready too.

A quick spring tune-up helps ensure brakes are working properly, chains are running smoothly, and tires are inflated to the right pressure. These small checks make a big difference in how safely and confidently kids ride.

We also love teaching riders how to do simple things themselves, like pumping their tires. When kids understand how their bike works and how to care for it, they gain a sense of independence and ownership over their riding.

A well-maintained bike isn’t just about performance — it helps riders feel more confident getting out and exploring all spring long.
  • Spring riding starts this week, and a few spots are still open.

Our Wednesday 4:15 PM and Saturday 12 PM classes at PPK HQ in Millersville still have a few open spots and are great options for riders ready to build confidence and skills this spring. With small groups and weekly progression, kids make real progress session after session.

Register before these last spots fill! Link in bio.
  • Andrea, a PE teacher and a DC Camp Manager, sees it every day — the moment confidence clicks, the pride on a child’s face, and the friendships that form along the way.

At PedalPower Kids, we’re looking for educators, coaches, and leaders who believe movement builds confidence and that kids are capable of more than they think. Whether you’re a teacher, PE instructor, college student, or simply someone who loves working with kids, this is more than a job — it’s an opportunity to make a real impact.

If you’re passionate about helping kids grow, gain independence, and achieve something they once thought was impossible, we’d love to meet you.
  • This week’s Why Wednesday: “Why Give Your Kiddo Some Space at Learn to Ride”

At PPK, we love supportive parents — you’re the reason your rider is here! But during class, we intentionally create a little space and encourage parents to spread out or even step away during instruction.

As any parent who has coached their child in sports can attest, it’s challenging to be both a supportive parent and an objective coach. Our coaches know what to say and do to help children master multiple, complex skills simultaneously, by assuming competence and capability. We believe that every child CAN and WILL learn to ride a bike, and we bring that belief and heaps of patience to every single class and camp.

In turn, riders take more risks. They push through frustration and persevere. They begin solving problems on their own.

And when they ride over to you at the end of class to show you what they can do? You’ll both be beaming with pride!
